A story about an ordinary man with unordinary experiences

Douglas Adams’s novel “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” tells about an ordinary man with an ordinary life. But thats about to change. On one ordinary day he realizes that someone is about to demolish his house. Of course he tries to stop them, but does it really matter when earth is about to be demolished by aliens ? Luckily his friend Ford ( who’s alien ) comes to rescue with his galactic hitchhiking ring and a towel.

The novel’s protagonist is just an ordinary man called Arthur Dent who is about 30 year’s old. He lives at England  that’s located on planet called earth. Like all the Englishmen who lives on earth, he likes tea. After the destruction of planet earth Arthur never got the chance to change his cloths. So he goes to the adventure by wearing bathrobe and of course he got the towel. He and hes friend hitchhiked to a spaceship where he meets Trillian second time ( first time was at earth at some lame party ). He got a crush on her but because his so shy he never got the guts to tell her but what he don’t know is that Trillian likes him too. While traveling with his friends he find out that one of the friends named Zaphold likes Trillian too.

Arthur didn’t know that there is any life out of earth so everything he saw and heard was new and some of it was pretty hard to get used to. Maybe one of the hardest things to get used to was that the rats ruled the earth. Although the earth was rebuild Arthur decided to stay at the spaceship and continue the hunt for the question for answer 42.

In my opinion Arthur was and unlucky man but only lucky thing is that he got away from the destruction of earth.

Book Review

Douglas Adams novel ” Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy ” tells about an ordinary man called Arthur whose life is about to change in a blink of an eye.

One day Arthur wakes up and drinks some hot tea, but suddenly his house starts to shake. He realizes when he looks out of the window that big group of workmen is trying to demolish his house. “And why’s that ?” he asks. They had orders to build a shortcut to some place which goes right through his house, but does it really matter, because earth is going to be destroyed by aliens “Vogans” in 20 minutes. After a while his friend Ford comes to rescue him with his hitchhiking ring and their adventure is about to begin in space.

The protagonist of the book is Arthur and i’m going tell you my opinion of him. Arthur Dent lived in England by himself. Dent is around 25-35 years old who loves tea. Arthur is a fantastic person for my taste. I really enjoyed reading about his extraordinary adventure through sky and space. Arthur Dent is little weird, sometimes funny and little lost of his mind, because the world just got demolished and he is about to hang out with weird people with their weird things. Dent has a girl friend called Trillian (Tricia McMillan), well she is not her girlfriend at the beginning, but Arthur later get to know  her. There’s also one other character, Zaphod Beeblebrox who is the president of the Galaxy with his two heads. With these guys he shares his adventure.

Book was really great. I enjoyed reading it, but some of the words were so difficult to understand so I didn’t get all things, but I learned many new words.  The book was a fantastic collection of fictional characters. And yes, there is also movie about this book which I have never seen, but I am going to watch is soon as possible. I really liked the details of the characters, because they were so unlike and funny too.

What would you do, when you’d heard that world was going to end, in less than 10 minutes, and your buddy kept telling you: “Know where your towel is.”?

In Douglas Adam’s book “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Galaxy”, Arthur Dent, a normal human-being, has to escape from Earth with his alien friend, just before the whole planet gets blowned up to make way to the new intergalactical highway. Arthur and his friend, Ford Prefect, tries to get a lift from a Vogon spaceship, but they end up in a stolen spacehip, run by Zaphod Beeblefox. His assistant is the lovely and intelligent Trillian, aka Tricia McMillan, who is the other survivor from the ruins of Earth.

Together they start adventure around the Galaxy, trying to search the answer for ultimate question. The only help they have is The Hitchhiker’s Guide To Galaxy. For Arthur, the book gives more than information, comfort, as on the book’s cover is written with big letters “Don’t panic.”

Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (1979)

A novel by Douglas Adams, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is a sci-fi parody wich released at 1979. The novel tells a story about an ordinary Englishman with an ordinary life, wich is about to change.

The man is called Arthur Dent, and in the beginning of the book, he finds out that his house is going to be demolished. Soon after that, He will be informed that the whole planet earth will be gone in the next 20 minutes, well thats nice. Then he just goes to the pub, and meets his friend, ford prefect, who is an alien but Arthur never knew that before the end of the earth. Just before the earth explodes, Ford asks Arthur to get his towel, and then they escape from the exploding earth. Thats how Arthur’s strange adventure begins.

Arthur is the protagonist, but there is few other important persons too. Ford Prefect, Arthur’s friend, Trillian, second living human being and the two-headed fellow, called Zaphod Beeblebrox, the president of the Galaxy. These people are Arthur’s companions in his mystical journey, and there is also a sad robot called Marvin.

Arthur was borned in england, he is about 30 years old, he is like normal Englishman, he rather drinks a cup of tea than gets in action, he is peaceful fellow.  Arthur has kind of weird personality, he is shy and righteous but in the same time kind of antihero. Well it’s not a surprise that he is little weird, because his home planet got destroyed.

I’m not a friend of books, but I enjoyed reading this novel, because it was quite short and messed up, so it was funny. There were few difficult new words in it, but I got the big picture.

There is also a movie about this book, but I havent seen it and I dont even want to see it, because I have heard that it is not that good. Movie trailer
